About Being Primitive
My name is William Adam, my friends commonly call me Adam as I do not like the name William. I changed to Adam when I went to college and now most of the people in my life know me as Adam. I almost never reply to anyone calling me William, Will, Willie or Bill. People (other than my parents and old friends) who cannot accept this should read no further. Go away, now.
This web blog is for my daily rants, chats and thoughts. It is called being primitive as I see web blogs as the way for people to express their thoughts and ideas just like stone-age cavemen did with cave walls. This, to me, is the new digital and edit friendly way of doing what cavemen did. And of course, it was a relatively short name that was still available to register. In truth, the site name was inspired by some hair clay that I use, see here.
I live (mostly) in The Netherlands just now and enjoy the company of a nation filled with relatively calm people, good food with slow service, and (and most importantly) excellent coffee. Enjoyed here, here and on the very odd occasion here. Having lived in the UK for a long time it is amazing to move to another country and realise that the crap service and attitude of service orientated staff in the UK is not actually 'the norm'. It appears that people in the UK put up with this as they have no idea that there is another choice. I plan to never live in the UK again. In reference to the stereotypes of The Netherlands, the people do not wear wooden clogs and they do not (all) live in windmills. But it is flat and they do have large dyke's.
I like bad TV, cold weather, dark nights, snow, ice and rocks. I work best when my work area is immaculately clean (I border on obsessive compulsive when it comes to my work area being clean), when it is dark and when I have a plentiful supply of tea, I prefer PG Tips if possible. I enjoy photography, running, snowboarding and adventure, although adventure has been in short supply of late.
I enjoy working on and learning about html, databases, php but would not class myself as a web nerd (yet?) so feel free to email me questions and/or suggestions for my blog.
