Tomorrow is the day that Firefox 3 is being released. Mozilla are also hoping to break the world record for
the most downloaded software in 24 hours.
I am looking forward to its release, I enjoy using it and it doesn’t screw up under vista unlike Internet Explorer which is slowly sending my wife crazy…using another browser just isn’t an option. This did start me thinking though…about why people use Internet Explorer even though it doesn’t stick to web standards and is generally evil?
Trawling through my stats details (I use get clicky) I found an interesting trend. People that get to me via web 2.0 applications (twitter, pownce, plurk etc) generally use Firefox and people that come through search engines use Internet Explorer. This is obviously a generalisation, but there was a definite trend. I noticed this last week when a ton of people came from summize (a twitter search engine) due to the iPhone 2 release, almost every one of them used Firefox.
So, erm, download firefox tomorrow, if only to take part in the world record event! But, you are a geek/nerd if you use it. *Ahem*

You’re turning me into a nerd. Apparently resistance is futile.
Ya’ll need a bluetooth earpiece. We all now look like we’ve been assimilated!
