Having returned to the land of decent coffee, bad service (much like the land I left) and familiar surroundings I feel a sense of relief. The past couple of weeks have been pretty tough on my family and I feel a tinge of guilt at being able to leave it all behind.
Some good things did come out of the trip though, I got new pillows, some new CD’s and worked out the true meaning of the saying “you can choose your friends but not your family”. To some extent you do choose your own family your wife /husband for instance, depending on what country/religion/community you are in/believe/live.
So things return to normal? Not likely. I have been refreshed and am ready for some changes, but more importantly I am ready to make changes. I think that there is a big difference between making changes and being ready for them. There is a saying that there are three types of people in the world, those that make things happen, those that let things happen to them and those that wonder what happened. Let’s make things happen for a while, shake things up a bit, see what happens.
I don’t think these feelings will go away, let Citizen Cope tell you about it.
