So, the first Monday back to work comes around.  It’s mornings like these where I think about the things I am looking forward to.  Such as the next trip to Canada.  I am suffering from the severe temperatures that are occurring in The Hague just now, it is way above freezing.  There is no snow either.  Man, I miss Canada.

Right, now that I have moaned about my missing of Canada, I’ll focus on being positive.  Such as finding out that I was being overpaid last year, due to an accountants error, but they are going to let me keep it anyway.  So I am official 275 Euros richer than I should be.  Although, that would probably just mean that there is 275 Euros more on the credit card ;)  It also means that my salary has been cut from now on…

I am also getting excited about the (US) Presidential race.  I am slightly dumbfounded of how it can take an entire year or so just to select the candidate but wow, how well CNN covers it.  How many times and in how many ways can you tell people who won and by how many votes.  Poor Hilary, she has taken on the dirty tactics now to re-establish herself as a front runner suggesting that Obama “could have a pretty good debate with himself”.  Apparently Richardson has “been in hostage negotiations that are a lot more civil” than last nights TV debate.  I can barely wait on the New Hampshire results.  CNN are now reporting that the latest polls see Obama surging past Clinton.  And of course the republicans are campaigning like people care.  Someone is narrowly leading someone else and they are all campaigning like the republicans have a chance of being president after GW.  Just to show that this blog has no political agenda I’ll put in a link to the Republican and Democrat websites.

Not that any of these results will affect me on this side of the pond.  Or perhaps it will, who knows?  I can’t actually exercise my democratic right in The Netherlands and I can’t vote in Britain now either (but then would it really matter anyway?).
