Nicki and I went to visit some friends in the valley today, the roads were amazingly clear after last nights slow (compare to England where the country would have ground to a halt due to six cm of snow). Needless to say I took our new camera with us for a bit of fun.
Ken and Heidi recently acquired a gamelan, a gamelan is a set of instruments and is a distinct entity, built and tuned to stay together. The gamelan typically features a variety of instruments such as metallophones, xylophones, drums, and gongs; bamboo flutes, bowed and plucked strings, and vocalists may also be included. The term, gamelan, refers more to the set of instruments than the players of those instruments.
Their gamelan was custom made in Java, I shudder to think how much it cost to deliver to Nova Scotia never mind the cost of it all!
