I make great plans for the weekend on Fridays. They are full of hard work, perseverance, learning and general improvement of myself. They very rarely go to plan. In fact, my Friday plans for the weekend never go to plan. The main problem is that Saturdays are preceded by Friday night. I like to stay up late on Fridays with the bad TV programs, perhaps a movie and some surfing on the net. My plans for a productive Saturday then go awry as I like to sleep in, go to The Greve for a late breakfast and wander the city for a while with my wife. This generally involves a look round the Apple shop, of course. It’s a weakness. It’s my weakness, one of many. For clarity, the weakness being the very relaxed Saturdays, not the Apple shop.
So here I am, now into Sunday morning, wondering how to rectify my plans for the weekend. I guess I’ll make some plans for next weekend and try to do some work tomorrow, make up for the lost time today.
There is much consolation in the Saturday part of the plan going awry. I get to spend valuable time with someone that I love very much and within these precious moments the plan seem less important. Too much time is spent doing things that just aren’t important in life. The time we spend administrating our own lives has reached a crazy level; banking, filling in forms, applying for ‘things’, and then work. We spend a third of our lives working (mostly making money for someone else). Who was the last person you knew that was on his/her deathbed proclaiming how they wished that they had spent more time in the office?
Be careful with your time, it is running out.

Hey sunshine. I love Saturdays with you too. You’re allowed a day off, monkey.
